This project explores how branded cinema ads can evolve beyond promotion becoming immersive moments of storytelling that connect audiences emotionally with the theater experience.

Each concept reimagines Cinemas not just as a place to watch films, but as a living, breathing part of the movie world itself where the audience, environment, and imagination merge.

Through playful liveaction storytelling and cinematic VFX, these short-form concepts aim to bring magic to the moments before the movie begins.

Transforming cinema moments

into storytelling experiences

Creative Direction

The idea was to approach cinema advertising with a director’s eye and a dreamer’s mind crafting narratives that feel like mini films rather than ads.

Each piece captures the joy of being in a theater, the anticipation, the sound, the movement all wrapped in storytelling that mirrors the movie it promotes.

Concept 01 — The Smurfs “Snooterpoot Bounce”

(Live Action + VFX)

The idea?

A playful cinema short that introduces “Snooterpoots”, furry popcornsized creatures that come to life in the back rows of a theater.

Through a mix of live action and animated VFX, the film follows one Snooterpoot as it bounces through seats, lands in a popcorn bucket, and bursts into a wave of excitement capturing the childlike joy of cinema.

The concept extends beyond the screen with a real life brand activation Snooterpoot Popcorn, a limited edition colorful popcorn mix inspired by the characters.

Each flavor and color reflects the Snooterpoots’ playful personalities, turning the simple act of buying popcorn into an immersive, collectible experience that blurs the line between story and snack.

Tagline:

“Snooterpoots are rolling into the cinema and they’ve brought their popcorn with them.”

Snooterpoots are rolling into the cinema, don’t miss out!

Concept 02 — The Smurfs “The Lift”

The film opens on a close up shot of a child seated alone in a dark, green-tinted Roxy theater, quietly eating popcorn.
As the camera slowly zooms out, the cinema screen shows a glowing forest scene from The Smurfs, where mushroom houses begin to rise.
The child’s eyes widen and suddenly, the world around him begins to shift. His seat trembles, then gently lifts off the ground.
Rows of seats follow, floating weightlessly as VFX mushroom houses emerge around him, glowing in the same green hue from the movie.

He looks down, realizing he’s levitating his expression a mix of awe and disbelief.
Then, as the magic peaks, the lights flicker and fade. The screen turns black.

“Experience the rise , the Smurfs aren’t the only ones lifting off.”
