Reality Alteration

Reality Alteration

This project was created using a vector graphics software called inkscape, i used basic shapes such as ovals and squares and experimented with different colors, textures and filters to explore various visual effects and techniques.

this project discusses an experimental idea about how the mirrors we use every day affect how we see ourselves and the world.

I created a series of mirrors with different colors and patterns as a potential exhibition experiment to see if changing the mirros we see ourselves in everyday therefore portraying our looks and how we see our selves in a different way than the usual can eventually change how we perceive the world and others.

We often get used to seeing ourselves in the same way every day through a regular mirror. But what happens if we start using a colored, textured or patterned mirror? Could this change how we see ourselves? And could it change how we see others and the world around us? This project explores whether altering the way we view ourselves might shift our perception of reality.

By experimenting with different designs and how our minds adapt to new visual changes, this project suggests that something as simple as changing the mirror we look into could help us see ourselves and others in a new way, maybe even offering a new approach for mental health or self image.

The images presented here are graphic designs of mirrors with different patterns and colors, created as conceptual representations.

I plan to potentially bring these designs to life by turning them into actual mirrors, though this is still a concept in progress.

In the end, this project asks: is the way we see the world really how it is, or is it just how we’re used to seeing it?
